Highlights From The Democratic National Convention
With The Democratic National Convention now in the rearview mirror, we wanted to share a few highlights from our experience in Philadelphia last week.
– On Tuesday, BPI hosted a breakfast panel with PoliTemps featuring Chris Jones, BPI’s Ann Marie Habershaw, HFA’s Bernard Coleman, HFA’s Nathaniel Koloc and Senate Democratic Diversity Initiative’s Maria Meier. The group talked about “Talent Management in the Political World” and explored why it is important to use diverse sources to build your team, how to run your job search like a political campaign and how social media has impacted job seekers.
– On Wednesday night, BPI hosted a late night concert featuring The Roots powered by Pandora at Trocadero Theater. Philly-themed snacks like artisanal pretzels, cheese steaks, an apple pie wall and a popsicle station decorated the venue. The Roots played fan favorites such as “Break You Off” and “The Next Movement.” Hundreds of people joined to watch the concert, which ended with a balloon drop, a major highlight of the event.
– On Thursday, we heard from the first female democratic Presidential nominee, Hillary Clinton, who shared her passions for helping others, fighting for justice, and talked about how we can be “stronger together” this election season.
We extend our thanks and gratitude to all those who worked hard to make the convention a success. With only 97 days left until Election Day, we are excited to help get out the vote online – and off! Stay tuned for more election updates from the BPI Team.
