Over the past several years, BPI has partnered with Indra Nooyi to manage her social media strategy. When we started our work with her in 2017, she was sitting at the helm of PepsiCo as their CEO. While she was well-regarded in the public eye as a Fortune 500 trailblazer, her digital footprint did not match her offline clout — so we built Indra a cross-channel social presence to bring her influence online.

Indra’s departure from PepsiCo in 2018 launched a new phase of our relationship. Following a highly visible management transition, we helped revise her digital playbook to establish a new set of tone-of-voice principles, message pillars, and content themes. We then worked in lockstep with our designers to refresh her visual identity, drawing from a more personalized set of colors, fonts, and patterns.

Our goal was to continue elevating Indra’s presence in a way that honored the impact she made during her 12-year tenure at PepsiCo and while expanding her reputation beyond the company’s moniker. 

In 2021, we helped Indra launch her new memoir, My Life in Full — tapping into a following of +1.5M across LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and Goodreads that we built together over four years. Today, we’re leveraging Indra’s channels to action on a content strategy that elevates the central message in Indra’s story — that improving company and community support for young family builders will unleash the economy’s full potential.

Outcomes

  • From 2017 to 2018, Indra went from a virtually inactive presence on social media, to one with a steady posting cadence that was driving high engagement rates and growing her following.

  • During this period, Indra’s following grew 530% year-over-year. From 2019 to 2020, we expanded Indra’s presence to two new platforms and surpassed 1M followers on LinkedIn, representing a 114% increase in her organic following from the CEO transition and a 1,251% increase from the start of our partnership in 2017.

  • In 2019, Indra was named to LinkedIn’s Top Voices list of U.S. Influencers.

  • Since My Life in Full was announced in March of 2021, Indra acquired 128K new followers, 30K of which were gained during publication week alone in September.

  • In collaboration with a global publishing, press, and events team, our efforts helped propel My Life in Full onto The New York Times bestseller list and Amazon's Editor's Picks just one week after publication.
