Electing Tammy Duckworth To U.S. Senate

BPI was the lead digital agency for Tammy Duckworth’s Senate campaign in Illinois. BPI worked with the campaign to execute acquisition, persuasion and mobilization efforts from the start of the cycle until her victory in November 2016.

What we Did

BPI worked with the Duckworth campaign to mobilize supporters, fundraise and persuade voters in Illinois. In order to capitalize on a poorly chosen tweet sent out by the NRSC claiming that Duckworth had a “sad record of not standing up for veterans,” BPI created the hashtag #StandWithTammy and launched social media and petition ads to raise money for the candidate. In the final week before Election Day, BPI launched GOTV videos with Tammy and President Obama, and in partnership with Google, built a custom polling place lookup tool within a banner ad. In sum, BPI acquired 90,000 new supporters for the campaign through digital ads and drove 44,000 GOTV commit or look up actions through reaching priority turnout targets. Tammy Duckworth defeated incumbent Mark Kirk and won the Senate seat on November 8, 2016.
