In partnership with Bloomberg Philanthropies, we launched the Compact of Mayors, a coalition of U.S. mayors dedicated to lowering carbon emissions and fighting climate change. Using an integrated communications and stakeholder outreach campaign, we recruited hundreds of cities to join this effort creating a positive echo chamber across channels.
When the Compact of Mayors merged with the EU Covenant of Mayors to create the Global Covenant of Mayors, we led the global communications efforts surrounding the merger to ensure a seamless transition and to introduce the refreshed brand across markets.
We were integral in building the GCoM coalition, working with mayors’ offices around the world to recruit cities to join. While continuing the earned media drumbeat we also launched social media channels, developed digital content and branding, and utilized paid media to make the Global Covenant one of the foremost voices on city-level climate action.
We helped build the Global Covenant of Mayors to represent over 7,500 cities worldwide.
By both engaging in community management of member cities, and developing an external communications strategy across owned, earned, and paid media, we built believers in the idea that cities can — and will — be leaders in the effort to cut emissions and stop the progression of climate change.
