Yolanda Murphy is a Managing Director at Bully Pulpit Interactive (BPI), focused on corporate communications.

Murphy was most recently sector vice president of communications for Northrop Grumman’s Defense Systems sector, a broad-spectrum provider of critical technology services, sustainment, and modernization, including integrated battle command systems, tactical weapons, and information systems, focused on evolving threats and quick-turn requirements for a wide variety of national security, military, and civilian customers. In this role, Yolanda led the strategic direction and execution of communications initiatives that promote culture, awareness, connection, and overall business growth. Prior to that, she served as sector vice president of Northrop Grumman’s former Technology Services sector, a recognized leader in integrated logistics; sustainment; modernization; defense; health; civil and government services; and training solutions.

At Northrop Grumman, Murphy was responsible for teams that directly contributed to the increase in the win and capture rate of business, yielding several hundred million dollars in new business, the preservation of franchise programs, and favorable positioning for future growth in key market areas. She also spearheaded the development and launch of ONE magazine, the first enterprise-wide publication, and led the global communications strategies for several of the company’s aircraft sensor businesses, such as F-16, F-35, and E-8 Joint STARS platforms.

Her talents have been recognized with several awards, including being named Top 25 MarCom Leaders to Watch by the Washington ExecTop 40 under 40 by the Leadership Center for Excellence; and an Hermes Creative Platinum award winner from the Association of Marketing and Communications Professionals.

Yolanda earned a master’s degree in communications from Johns Hopkins University and a bachelor’s degree in visual communications from International Academy of Design and Technology. She also completed the University of Chicago Booth School of Business Strategy course.
